A Benefit Concert for Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) VictimsIn an effort to extend substantial aid to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda),   which brought wreak havoc to Central Philippines last November 8, 2013, we, the San Lorenzo Ruiz Choir of New York (SLRC) will hold a concert entitled “Awit ng Pasko”, that will benefit the families affected by the calamity. The concert will be held on December 7, 2013, 7 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Church Yorkville, 404 E. 87th St. (between York Ave and 1st Ave), New York, NY. Net proceeds from this concert will go directly to the Calamity Assistance and Relief Endeavors (CARE) program of Feed the Hungry Philippines for Typhoon Haiayan (Yolanda) victims. We are hopeful that the aid we will extend will go a long way in providing relief to the victims.  As most of us know, the country has suffered a death toll of over 10,000 and damaged properties worth billions of dollars. Amid the carnage, hundreds of thousands of survivors are trying to cope with the lack of water, food, shelter and medicine, and are in dire need of our help. In this regard, we invite you to be part of our cause. For immediate donations, please go to http://feedthehungryphil.org/philippines-typhoon-appeals. For tickets, please contact us at (201) 388-1621 or slrcny.com orwww.facebook.com/sanlorenzoruizchoir. Suggested minimum donation for a ticket to the benefit concert is $10.

SLRC, a 501(c)(3) registered non-profit corporation, is a New York-based music ministry established in February 2007 and brought together by a devotion to San Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila. Through music, it aims to help make the Eucharistic celebration a more enriching experience and to spread devotion to the first Filipino saint.  It sings regularly at two New York churches and in the past years held fundraising concerts for its beneficiaries.  Please visit our website at www.slrcny.com and www.facebook.com/sanlorenzoruizchoir for more information.

Maraming salamat po! To God be the glory!
